For those of you who have been hiding under a rock for the last 100 years, Ogilvy, or Ogilvy and Mather, is a New York City-based British advertising, marketing and public relations agency. Like The Bannermen, Ogilvy got its start in London. Unlike The Bannermen, Ogilvy was founded in 1850 which makes them the oldest of the ‘old school cool’. In 1964, the agency became known as Ogilvy & Mather after merging with a New York City agency that was founded in 1948 by David Ogilvy. It is now part of the WPP Group, which is by revenue, one of the largest marketing and communications companies in the world.
So, it goes without saying that in the advertising industry, Ogilvy is as authoritative and dignified as classic single malt. And that is just the kind of tipple that we are drawn to. As a sprightly start-up in 2013, we were beyond honoured to partner with Ogilvy UK in some of our earliest Bannermen campaigns. These Adland titans really put our team through their paces and demanded nothing but perfection from any campaign that came through our doors. Because of their relentless pursuit of perfection, we owe this distinguished team more than we can say. Thanks for the good times, Ogilvy! Keep up the outstanding work.
