What is Sizmek? 

Sizmek (pronounced Size-mik) is an ad serving platform that allows data, media, and creative material (i.e. banners) to work together and be monitored for optimal performance across its entire online journey. At the moment, Sizmek operates in more than 70 countries and connects more than 20,000 advertisers with 3,600 audiences around the globe. It has the capacity to host those just beginning their digital journey or who favour a more ‘self-serve’ model of ad creation. Sizmek’s Ad Builder aspect would serve the latter audience perfectly.

Sizmek uses a powerful artificial intelligence platform which makes display decisions across the customer journey. Their gathered data speaks to each individual’s buying patterns and targets and delivers messages to them on the right content platforms at the right time – with the goal of turning those impressions into all-important conversions.

The biggest news on the Sizmek platform is that it was recently acquired by Amazon Advertising, in a bid to keep up with the very popular Google Platform. As of September 2019, the official word from is that “Sizmek will continue operating separately from Amazon Advertising for the time being. Nothing is changing for you — our service will continue and your engagement with your partners at Sizmek, whether with your account manager, customer success team, or billing team, will remain the same.”

Sizmek does not track campaign metrics in real time and that can sometimes have an effect on giving your clients or teams up-to-the-day metrics and return information. Sizmek can also be a bit of a struggle to get a handle on using; its interface isn’t extremely intuitive or user-friendly. And when you’re up against a deadline to get a campaign off the ground, getting it to the ad server isn’t the part where you want to be reduced to tears because you JUST-DON’T-GET-IT.
